Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center, which includes the world’s only free-standing, Catholic-affiliated children’s hospital, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2006. The center is affiliated with Saint Louis University School of Medicine and is home of the Bob Costas Cancer Center and St. Louis Cord Blood Bank, the second-most-active cord blood bank in the world.

The Glennon staff touches the live of over 250,000 children through admissions, emergency room treatments and outpatient visits each year.
